In addition to the Eagle's Landing After School Care program, there are several clubs and extracurricular activities available through the school and outside organizations. The following is the current list of our extracurricular options for the 2019-2020 school year.

Ladybug For Girls-

Our health and wellness club teaches girls transformational healthy life skills in a fun, non-competitive environment. Girls are empowered by learning self-awareness, emotional management, how to make healthy food choices and discover gardening, as well as, increase their physical activity while building leadership skills, self-esteem and healthy peer relationships.

 

Dates: Mondays, Biweekly (1/13 - 4/18) (bi-weekly)

Time: 2:45pm - 4:00pm

Fee: $80/semester

Break Into Business Start Up Club

Break into business with the Break Into Business Start Up Club, coaching young people to launch real businesses! Entrepreneurs move from idea to pitch to profitable business over the course of one semester. Students have the opportunity to be creative while learning practical skills like how to build a business, design their own logo, and create promo materials.

Grounded Kids Yoga-

This fun and playful yoga club is the perfect way for kids to practice valuable skills that last a lifetime. Kids who practice yoga have less anxiety, manage stress effectively, sleep better, crave healthy food, focus and concentrate longer, get along better with others and have a deep and true sense of who they are in the world.

Bricks 4 Kidz-

In this S.T.E.M. club, children will use our signature “Project 1 Kit” to build complex STEM builds from our over 1,000 different proprietary motorized and architectural LEGO models and our over 200 unit-themes. Our "Master Builders" build from fun themes such as Star Wars and Minecraft, while developing important hands-on problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Each model teaches students new and interesting S.T.E.M. concepts such as fractions, gear ratios, laws of motion and much more! Each child will get to take home a custom-built mini-figure at the end of the semester!

Championship Chess presents a systematic, fun way to build chess skills during chess instruction and play. Studies show that the study of chess improves math, reading and problem-solving, and our methods connect these academic benefits to our classes.

Young Rembrandts-

Our classes focus exclusively on teaching drawing skills and we use only dry media – colored pencils and markers. Children who learn to draw using the Young Rembrandts method develop spatial reasoning and fine motor skills, order and sequencing abilities, visualization, and self-discipline as well as fundamental art skills. Our weekly classes introduce concrete ideas and techniques that enlarge children's vocabulary, enrich their imaginations and build their minds.

Expressions In Motion Dance offers students an opportunity to explore multiple styles of dance. Not only will children enhance their dance and performance skills, but they will gain self-confidence & poise. This program will help to improve flexibility, balance, physical strength, mobility, and coordination.

Time: either 2:30 - 4 p.m. OR 4 - 5 p.m.

Fee: $285/session or $62.50 monthly payments

Coding and Video Game Design Club with Bricks4Kidz-Atlanta Metro GA program

Students will develop a range of coding and problem-solving skills as they create fun video games. Game designers will think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively to create various video games. Each Game Design unit includes a themed mini-model built with LEGO bricks that will be the main character of all the games. Each game progressively teaches more advanced capabilities within the video game software. Students will be proud and excited to actually play their very own video games.Dates: Thursdays,

Participants will learn basketball FUNdamentals, use a variety of games and activities to learn basketball skills and play basketball in game situations. 

Each session will include a character education component (integrity, perseverance, caring, self-discipline, responsibility, honesty, citizenship, courage, fairness, respect).

Skills: Dribbling, Shooting, Passing, Ball Handling, Defense

4-H is coming to Laurel Ridge! This free club for 1st-5th graders will meet twice monthly (most months) on Friday afternoons beginning September 20th. Our Laurel Ridge club will focus on gardening, environmental education, and natural play.
